Happy Mother’s Day!

Respect Life – Happy Mother’s Day!

“That special power of loving that belongs to a woman is seen most clearly when she becomes a mother. Motherhood is the gift of God to women. How grateful we must be to God for this wonderful gift that brings such joy to the whole world, women and men alike! Yet we can destroy this gift of motherhood, especially by the evil of abortion, but also by thinking that other things like jobs or positions are more important than loving, than giving oneself to others. No job, no plans, no possessions, no idea of “freedom” can take that place of love. So anything that destroys God’s gift of motherhood destroys His most precious gift to women – the ability to love as a woman.” – Mother Theresa

It’s not too late to offer a rosary, as part of the One Million Rosaries for Pre-Born Babies. This multi-national prayer event unites people in praying the Rosary for an end to the surgical and non-surgical killing of preborn babies. Please join Catholics across the country in this powerful prayer and offer a Rosary this weekend or whenever you can. For more information, see

Easter Pro-Life Prayer

Lord Jesus Christ, we praise your Resurrection! We celebrate your triumph over the Kingdom of death! May we, your Church, proclaim, celebrate, and serve the victory of LIFE in our world. May we respond to the needs of those who are tempted to destroy the LIFE within them by abortion, and may we help to build a world which rejects every form of violence and in particular, the violence of abortion.

You live and reign forever and ever. Amen

International Christian Concern

More than 1 million children in northern Nigeria and nearby areas have been displaced because of attacks by the Islamic militant group Boko Haram, the BBC reports. The organization International Christian Concern (ICC) says the children are living in “horrific conditions, facing malnutrition and disease.”

ICC acts as a bridge between believers in free countries and those in persecuted countries. The bridge carries encouragement, prayers and aid in while news, requests, and love flow back over the bridge. The bridge also allows for the voices and concerns of the persecuted to be heard by the Church so that we might move the rest of the world to action on their behalf.

Open Doors USA

It is alarming news we hear now and then – the persecution of Christians. In 2013, there were some 2,100 Christians killed for faith-related reasons across the globe. The latest report found that anti-Christian persecution reached a new peak in 2015, with 7,100 people killed for faith-related reasons.

“The persecution of Christians is getting worse – in every region in which we work,” says Lisa Pearce, CEO of Open Doors UK and Ireland. About 4,000 Christians were killed in Nigeria, over 1,200 in the Central African and over 700 in Chad throughout 2015. In addition, over 2,400 churches were attacked or shut down for faith-related reasons, the Open Doors report said.

Please pray for our sisters and brothers in Christ who are facing persecution for their faith.
